Whitegate vs Ballycotton Paric Ui Rinn 24/10/19 We started of the day as normal with maths and tin whistle and just after eleven we started to gear up. We left around 11:15 and arrived around 12:00. At the end of first half of the game on before ours we were allowed into the dressing rooms to put on our kit, boots and gloves. We got charged up for a long game ahead of us. Some of the team were getting nervous but Brendan and Ms Hyde calmed us down. We started to warm up with some passing skills and pick ups. Then we were called over for our names to be called out on the mega phone. After the names we all got in our positions, Alex in goals, Fionn, Ellie and Éanna in the back line, Cillian and Senan in midfield and Shay, Ewan and Lukas up front. The game started at 13:30. The game started slowly but after awhile, Whitegate got the first point of the game. The scores then started coming in thick and fast. Both Ballycotton and Whitegate started scoring. At Half-Time the score was 0-4 to Whitegate and 1-0 to Ballycotton. During half time Brendan talked tactics while we recharged. The second half started swiftly with Ballycotton scoring first which put them 2 points ahead. We came back with a goal of our own which put us in front. Then they got 2 goals and 2 points in quick succession but Whitegate had lots of half chances which we should have converted. Whitegate got 1 goal and 1 point before the final whistle and it ended 2-5 to 3-3 to Ballycotton. Whitegate lost by one point we were devastated. But it was still an amazing experience for all. We all got a medal and the school got plaque. On behalf of the team we would like to thank the parents who drove us to the games and to everybody at Pairc Ui Rinn and to Ballycotton for a great match. Whitegate NS invited all pets both small and large to school.
It is lovely to meet different pets and learn about keeping dogs, cats and all other types of pets. Children can learn and gain understanding about keeping a pet. We also had the pleasure of helping students that had a fear of some animals to get over this fear. This was very rewarding. We also discussed that rubbing animals and being with them can make you very happy. This was true for us in our class. We were able to discuss how to train tricks and interact with all the different personalities that the animals offered. Have a look at our pics!! Sciath na scol

Whitegate V Knockraha On Wednesday the 25th of Sepember, Whitegate N.S played Knockraha N.S in Aghada GAA. Throw in was at 11 o'clock. The game started slowly, but suddenly, the ball was played out wide to Éanna. He ran in and put the ball in the back of the net. Then the game started to pick up the pace a bit. Two points went over the bar and the referee blew the whistle for half time. Ms Hyde had a chat with the players and they were all ready to go again. The referee blew the whistle and the game was back on. But almost straight away they got a point. Then they got a goal. They were one point behind! Whitegate now decided it was game on. Cillian and Senan started sending the balls over the top of the defenders so Ewan and Shay could get them and score. Whitegate just kept doing that and Knockraha started to get annoyed so they started to play a bit "physical". They gave away a lot of frees and Whitegate used the frees to score points. Now it was nearing the end of the game. A few seconds later the referee blew the whistle for full time. Whitegate won 3-8 to 1-2! It was the first time we had got into the semi-finals in 14 years!Everyone was really happy. We are looking forward to playing Tirelton N.S in the semi-finals on the 2nd of October in Killmicheal.
