We had a spooky week in school in the lead up to Halloween with lots of fun activities!! We created potions and spells in the role play corner, made haunted houses in the construction area, made lots of spooky characters with playdough and made witches in our art station. We also carved out a pumpkin with the help of Michelle. It was a very busy week!!
Maths Week took place from the 13th - 21st October and we had lots of fun completing various activities in the classroom. We have been recognising 2D shapes in the environment and 1st class made some shapes from leaves outside. We also made 2D shape monsters as it is getting very close to Halloween! We played some maths games on the computer and 1st class went on a maths trail around the school estimating and measuring the width of the classroom, corridor and yard. We had so much fun!
We have been very busy since we came back to school in September and everybody has settled in really well. Aistear is a huge part of our day and we love moving to all the different stations.
In the role play corner we set up a veterinary surgery and the children have loved looking after all of the animals. In our construction area we built homes for animals and the results were amazing!! We also made homes for animals from recyclable materials in our junk art station.
