We had lots and lots of fun at our Halloween Party!!
We played Pass the Parcel, Bobbing for Apples, Wrap the Mummy and Spooky statues.
Well done to everyone who dressed up, we had some really spooky costumes from ghosts to skeletons to witches to pirates to Zombies to book and movie characters.
There was a costume competition and Cormac O Flynn won and he was dressed up as a very scary ghost. Well done Cormac!!
On Tuesday, all of the children in Ms Hyde's class carved two pumpkins.
We needed three knives, a spoon, two pumpkins, gloves, bowls and a marker. We needed Michelle and Ms Hyde too. They had to do the yucky work!!
We had to cut off the top of the pumpkin first, then we had to scoop out all the guts and brains :)
We looked up a lot of different idea's on the internet and decided what kind of carving we wanted to do.
Michelle and Ms Hyde did the carving. It was dangerous with knives so we watched that part.
We decided to call our Jack O Lanterns, "Cutty" and "Chaos"
We had loads of fun!!
We have been very busy this Autumn!
We have been learning all about the seasons and what to expect in Autumn.
We learned all about the colours of Autumn and we have done lots of Autumn art too.
We have been learning about games in the past and we learned how to play conkers and had a massive conkers competition in first class.
First Class went on a trip to the shop in Whitegate.
First Class won 3rd prize in the Aghada Show with their entry in the junk art category. They decided in an Aistear session that they would build a town. This was a wonderful creation and the children won some money as their prize.
After a lot of chatting and organising, the children decided that they would like to go to the shop and spend their winnings on a treat. We would use this adventure to talk about Maths and use our Maths skills and also to look at safety in the area.
The children were amazing in their behaviour and manners to all the people they met!! Ms Hyde was a very proud teacher!! Well done guys
